Who we are

Founded more than 150 years ago, Bayer is a global innovation company with core competencies in the fields of health care and agriculture. Our innovative products and solutions seek to improve people’s health and quality of life as well as the health of animals and plants. With research and development activities based on a profound understanding of biochemical processes, we invent and develop new molecules which can positively influence selected biochemical processes in living organisms. Bayer has a strong presence in Finland, employing close to 800 people at our Nordic headquarters in Espoo and at a research and production site in Turku.

Our solution

In Finland Bayer specializes in developing and manufacturing high quality products that utilize polymer-based drug delivery technology. Based on Finnish innovation and pharmaceutical expertise, Bayer has built a global success story with the MIRENA® product family.

Bayer is contributing to finding solutions to some of the major challenges of our time. The growing, and increasingly aging, world population requires improved medical care and an adequate supply of food. Our products help improve people’s quality of life by preventing, alleviating and curing diseases as well as helping to provide a reliable supply of high-quality food, feed and plant-based raw materials.

What we are looking for

Bayer is an active player in the Finnish innovation ecosystem and we have established several collaborations with local partners. We believe that Finland is in a unique position to foster future growth in the life sciences, and we want to do our part to increase co-operation between the public and private sectors and the academia. We are engaged in collaboration projects with several partners in Finland and we are actively looking for new collaboration opportunities.
