Finland to offer pioneering cancer treatment
Finnish hospital HYKS and American company Neutron Therapeutics are bringing a new cancer treatment to the international market.
The recently closed deal makes HYKSin cancer centre the first hospital in the world with a hospital-adapted BNCT machine. The BNCT radiotherapy is developed by Neutron Therapeutics and has proven successful in treaing cancer in the head and neck areas. The plan is to commence the treatment in Finland by autumn 2018.

BNCT will also make it possible to focus the radiotherapy predominantly on the actual tumour, which will spare the healthy tissue.
