Who we are
GSK is a science-led global healthcare company that produces innovative medicines, vaccines and consumer healthcare products. We employ some 100,000 people in over 150 countries. In Finland GSK has a staff of some 150 employees with headquarters in Espoo.
We know that healthy communities depend on healthy people being the backbone of strong, sustainable societies. But the plain fact is that there are still millions of people without access to basic healthcare, thousands of diseases without adequate treatments and millions who suffer from everyday ailments.
We want to change this. That’s why we are harnessing our scientific expertise, our partnerships and our global reach to develop and make medicines, vaccines and consumer healthcare products for people who need them.
Our three world-leading businesses research, develop and manufacture innovative pharmaceutical medicines, vaccines and consumer healthcare products. We are committed to widening access to our products, so more people can benefit, no matter where they live in the world or what they can afford to pay.
Our continued success depends on our relentless drive to innovate. Discovering and developing new medicines and vaccines is tough. It requires huge investment, takes a very long time and there’s a high rate of failure.
We know that we won’t discover everything inside our own labs. That’s why we are collaborating with thousands of external organizations, including other companies, academic institutions and research charities.
Openness and transparency is key. That’s why we’ve opened up our clinical data to external researchers. And it’s why we were the first pharmaceutical company to commit to publishing the detailed results from our clinical studies – whether positive or negative – for all our medicines.
Behaving responsibly does not compromise commercial success. By doing what business does best – in our case, developing new medicines and vaccines and improving access to them – we can deliver strong, sustainable performance and help improve the lives of people all over the world.
At the same time as being truly global we are also very local in our reach and interested in developing the societies around us. In Finland, we have a strong heritage in doing clinical research, with some of the largest vaccine studies in the world being conducted in Finland. These studies do not only bring new medicines and vaccines: they benefit the people involved who get early access to important vaccines, create jobs and develop scientific networks.
What we are looking for
We are looking for people who have outstanding knowledge and skills and are keen to apply their experience in a challenging business environment. You also need to do this with integrity, acting in line with our values. We believe that how we deliver is every bit as important as what we deliver.
We are also looking for ideas and innovations to develop health care in our core businesses: respiratory, HIV, vaccines and consumer health.
Globally, we look for research collaborations with external organizations, including other companies, academic institutions and research charities.
