Who we are

Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) is a multidisciplinary institution of higher education providing education to support students’ professional development, the requirements and developments of the world of work, and to carry out R&D activities important to regional development. Measured by the amount of research and development conducted, HAMK is among the top universities of applied sciences in Finland. HAMK is developing and strengthening international RDI activities in cooperation with partner higher education institutions and research centres. HAMK is authorised by the Government of Finland.

HAMK School of Wellbeing offers bachelor- and master level studies in Nursing, Public Health Nursing and Social Services. School has about 1100 students, (from which 550 students in degree programme in nursing) Bachelor-level Nursing curricula concentrates on clinical nursing, nursing skills, family nursing, health promotion and preventive work. 

Service

HAMK School of Wellbeing has taken part in the following projects: Family Health and Wellbeing (funding from the North-South-South programme) where HAMK’s role was as an administrative university of the network. The network was a collaboration of four Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences, three universities from Vietnam and one university from Nepal. The Health Africa-Network (funding from the North-South-South programme) Network of Finnish universities, collaborating with Universities in Kenya and Uganda. The Finnish-Russian Network for Social Services and Health Care in the Universities of Applied Sciences (Funding from the FIRST programme). Network of Finnish universities and universities from Russia Spedutec – Promoting Learning and Development in Multisensory Environments with Assistive Technology Solutions (Funding from the Nordplus Horizontal programme).

In addition to degree-awarding education, HAMK School of Wellbeing offers also tailor made continuing staff education and Open University modules for adults as well as consulting services tailored to meet the needs of individuals, organisations and businesses. Also, HAMK provides evaluation and analysis of educational systems, consultation, educational development, collaborative research projects and pedagogical solutions. Our professionals provide custom-built education, training or consultation packages to best suit the customer.
