The Nordic Capital for life science and health technology Health Capital Helsinki is an innovation and business development platform in the field of life science and health technology. It is built on an alliance between the City of Helsinki, the University of Helsinki, Aalto University and HUS. The goal is to create a leading Nordic research, innovation and business hub in the Helsinki capital region. This is an unprecedented cooperation between top science communities, a cutting-edge hospital, and a city known for its advanced open data policies and great service design. The HCH alliance enables the creation of Living labs, which offer vast possibilities for business and service development. Our key focus areas are cancer, neuroscience, digital health and medtech as well as hospitals of the future.
Health Capital Helsinki’s aim is to make commercializing research innovations easier and more effective. HCH also develops innovation services in order to better include patient needs in health innovation activities and enable real co-creation in designing healthcare services. HCH activities lead to new startups as well as growth for existing healthcare companies, new jobs in the Helsinki region, and an increase in Finnish health and medtech exports.
