HACKING THE HOSPITAL WITH 5G TECHNOLOGY – A CHALLENGE FOR HACKATHON TEAMS
Fifth generation wireless technology is changing our everyday life in countless ways, and better customer journey in a hospital is one example of them. Hospital is a place of healing and well-being and yet, the environment can disorient and confuse the customers. Perhaps, for example, added reality solutions enabled by 5G could assist the customers finding their way in a large hospital complex.
Oulu 5GFWD is the first hackathon in the world really focusing on 5G development. Along with Oulu University Hospital, challenges are given by two major telecommunications and technology companies: Nokia is looking for ideas to enhance factories with 5G and Telia is looking for the new kind of 5G mobile apps.
Oulu 5GFWD Hackathon is organized by Nokia, Telia and Oulu University Hospital together with the city of Oulu and other associates. The application is open till May 29th and the main hacking event takes place in June 9-11 in Oulu. The total value of the prizes is more than 25.000 € and the teams may apply for travel grants worth up to 1500 €.
