SLUSH Singapore and events in Singapore during the Singapore SWITCH week – towards co-operation
In Singapore leading causes of morbidity and mortality are diseases such as cancer, heart diseases, strokes and diabetes. The ageing population and low birth rate bring challenges to the country’s healthcare.
The City of Helsinki organized several corporate events in Singapore during Singapore SWITCH week, starting September 18, 2017, in co-operation with Health Startup Association of Finland - HealthSPA. See the participating companies here. Finpro was also present supporting companies.
The City of Helsinki and event partners were supporting the Finnish companies at SLUSH Singapore. Unique opportunities were offered at SLUSH Singapore for companies to meet investors and potential partners. The event was arranged for the second time and gathered 3,000 attendees, 360 startups, 250 investors, 200 students and 90 speakers.
SLUSH Singapore covered all industries but health companies were very visible. Singapore has a lot to offer in terms of collaboration. The event was designed for growing companies of all stages and industries. It offers a unique opportunity for a company to showcase to a global audience.
The Upgraded Health seminar, held on the 20th of September in Singapore was opened by the Ambassador Paula Parviainen and the Mayor of Helsinki, Jan Vapaavuori. The seminar covered the latest innovations and trends in the health sector. It offered an opportunity for Finnish companies to meet Singaporean actors and discuss about possibilities for co-operation.
TECHINNOVATION is organised by IPI (Intellectual Property Intermediary), a non-profit organisation established under Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry. It brings together international and Singapore technology providers and seekers to discover innovative technologies, connect with new partners and collaborate to bring new ideas and opportunities to market through Open Innovation. This year the event was arranged 19-20 of September, 2017. Finland stand showcased the offerings of Finnish companies and opened up co-operation possibilities between Finnish and Singaporean actors.
The aim of the events is to create and strengthen strong partnership for Finland and Singapore and especially a strategic partnership in health and well-being, and to find customers and potential partners for Finnish and Singaporean companies.
